You might consider hiring a Private Investigator if:

  • You find someone else's wallet on your nightstand
  • The work release program sends a special bus to deliver employees
    to your company
  • Your husband tells you "that depends on what the definition of is is."
When should one consider hiring a Private Investigator?
Basically, you should consider hiring a Private Investigator when you need to find the facts or the truth. Many of our clients have had a "feeling" something was not quite right (usually about a spouse, business partner, or relative/friend) but they are so emotionally tied up in their situation their judgment is clouded. However, just because you feel there is something alarming or wrong does not necessarily mean it is so. Time and time again people will think something is wrong but instead of tackling it and sorting it out, they are inclined to accept even the most flimsy excuse that glosses the situation over. It is a very subtle form of denial. Rather than denying it or going off on half-baked assumptions or feelings, a better move would be to consult an investigator. This is a type of situation where a professional investigator can make a positive difference. An investigator has the experience to ask the right questions and to operate under the radar of the subject. Many times we have proven suspicions false and vindicated the subject and/or repaired the relationship, all the while without the other party being the wiser. Many more times the suspicion has been validated; then well thought out, appropriate action taken.

Divorce is never fun. I love to hear stories about how Bob and Janet are breaking up and that it's for the best. They are also still best of friends. It does not matter how amicable things are. One has their own self worth questioned all the while feeling they are wearing a big 'L" for loser on their head, whether they care to admit it or not. Throwing kids into the mix can get awfully ugly. When a family is broken up there are usually children involved. Sadly this can result in a custody battle between the parties. In child custody law, courts attempt to rule in the best interest of the children. Many times the court does not have a clear picture as to what is really going on in the lives of the children. A time to involve an investigator would be when there is unethical, deceitful, immoral or unhealthy conduct present. Some examples of this involves false accusations, contempt, deceit, withholding of children, abuse or neglect.

If you own a business there comes a time when you know your books well enough that you can tell if you have a theft problem. You want to take some action, yet the consequences of action could potentially alienate your entire staff. This is another case where the difference maker would be hiring a professional to do a discreet analysis. What are the consequences of accusing the wrong employee? Or worse yet, treating every employee with suspicion until the situation sorts itself out? Some employers hope that by treating everyone "equal" there is little or no fallout. What often happens is just the opposite - a massive fallout.

Are you hiring employees? It is a lot easier to check out your staff before you hire them, rather than try to figure out who is stealing from you or your customers later. If your business takes your employees into client's homes or gives them access to client's personal information it is always better to check first rather than risk being sued for their actions later.

You can't find your son, daughter, brother, sister, friend, Mom or Dad? It may be good time to call an investigator. Investigators have the latest tools and techniques used to find people on a nationwide basis. Fees for a simple search are very reasonable.

There are other situations too numerous to mention where an investigator can provide assistance. In short, hire an investigator when you need to make decisions that impact the lives of people. Making those decisions with facts and knowledge rather than feelings or emotion will always make for a better outcome.
